Abidjan, April 23, 2025 – In 2024, the initiatives undertaken as part of the Government's Youth Program (PJgouv 2024) directly impacted 1.6 million young people and led to the construction or rehabilitation of 123 training structures and youth infrastructures.
Government spokesperson Amadou Coulibaly shared this information at the conclusion of the Council of Ministers on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, in Abidjan.
According to the Minister of Communication, PJgouv also raised awareness among 4.7 million young people about social ills, with a total cost of 258.5 billion CFA francs, including 89 billion CFA francs allocated to completed or ongoing infrastructure constructions and rehabilitations.
The implementation of the program is divided into three key areas. The first axis, related to accelerating training, professional insertion, and youth entrepreneurship training, benefitted 487,255 young people and saw 116 infrastructures completed or under construction.
The second axis, focused on strengthening civic engagement and social ethics among the youth, reached 655,582 young people. The third axis, aimed at improving the living conditions and well-being of young people, impacted 421,859 young people, raised awareness among 4.7 million young people, and involved the rehabilitation or ongoing rehabilitation of 7 youth infrastructures.
Furthermore, he highlighted that in 2025, new initiatives and reforms have been adopted by the government to consolidate these achievements and continue the development and well-being projects for youth, with a total cost of 350.2 billion CFA francs, including 76.3 billion CFA francs allocated to the construction, rehabilitation, and equipping of youth infrastructures.
