Interior and Security: Minister Vagondo Diomandé Hands Over 109 Vehicles to Prefectural Corps and National Police

On Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at the Abidjan-Cocody Police School, the Minister of the Interior and Security, General Vagondo Diomandé, officially handed over 109 command vehicles to the prefectural corps and the national police. Of these, 75 vehicles were allocated to the prefectural authorities, and 34 were given to the national police units.

This initiative is part of the government's ongoing efforts to strengthen the operational capacity of public services tasked with ensuring the security and stability of the country.

"I remain convinced that these vehicles will have a direct and significant impact on your working conditions, thereby reinforcing the authority of the state in various localities and better responding to the expectations of our citizens," Minister Vagondo Diomandé stated.

According to the minister, the vehicle allocation will enable his ministry’s services to successfully carry out essential tasks such as managing administrative districts, maintaining public order, ensuring the security of citizens and property, as well as defending state security.

Additionally, the minister urged the prefectural corps and the national police "to remain fully committed, with a sharp sense of responsibility, and to foster exemplary collaboration to guarantee security, transparency, and respect for democratic principles" during the upcoming electoral process in 2025. “The delivery of these vehicles will enhance your capacity to intervene, not only in your daily missions but also during periods of high demand, such as elections, which require substantial human and material investment," he explained.

On their behalf, Minister Vagondo Diomandé expressed his profound gratitude to President Alassane Ouattara for his leadership and constant support of the ministry and its collaborators.

The vehicle handover ceremony was attended by the Director General of the Administration of the Territory, Ibrahima Bayo, and the Deputy Director General of the National Police, Siaka Dosso.
