Land Security Program: The Rural Land Information System of Côte d'Ivoire (SIFOR-CI) Created

As part of the implementation of the National Rural Land Security Program (PNSFR), the Council of Ministers adopted, on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at the Presidential Palace in Abidjan-Plateau, an ordinance establishing the creation, powers, organization, and operation of the Rural Land Information System of Côte d'Ivoire (SIFOR-CI), along with the related ratification bill.

"Institutionalized within the Rural Land Agency (AFOR), the SIFOR is both an information system designed to automate the management of all workflow processes and a digital registry to ensure the diligent preservation and production of land data and documents related to rural land. The deployment of the SIFOR will help overcome challenges in the intervention process, significantly reduce intervention time and costs, and accelerate rural land security operations," said Amadou Coulibaly, Minister of Communication and government spokesperson, at the conclusion of the Council meeting.

He reminded that the National Rural Land Security Program (PNSFR) aims to ensure the full implementation of law No. 98-750 of December 23, 1998, concerning rural land matters by 2033, by significantly incorporating digitalization and information and communication technologies in the management of the program.
