President Alassane Ouattara Meets with the Canadian Ambassador to Côte d’Ivoire
Abidjan, July 1, 2025 – The President of the Republic, H.E. Alassane Ouattara, held a meeting this Tuesday at the Presidential Palace with the Ambassador of Canada to Côte d’Ivoire, H.E. Anderson Blanc.
As his mission in Côte d’Ivoire comes to an end, Ambassador Blanc visited the Head of State to bid farewell and to reflect on the strong cooperation ties between Canada and Côte d’Ivoire.
The Canadian diplomat expressed his deep gratitude to President Ouattara for the warm welcome extended to him and his family throughout his three-year tenure in the country.
He also reaffirmed Canada’s commitment to deepening and expanding bilateral cooperation, particularly in the fields of security, trade, and development.
Ambassador Blanc emphasized the need to take the Canada–Côte d’Ivoire relationship to a new level, especially in the context of Canada’s Africa Strategy and following several high-level Canadian visits to Côte d’Ivoire in 2024 and early 2025.
He also highlighted the strategic nature of the partnership, noting that Côte d’Ivoire stands as a pillar of stability in the region, making it a key partner for Canada.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Fidèle Sarassoro, Minister and Chief of Staff to the President of the Republic.
