Director of Programs at Nouvelle Chaîne Ivoirienne (NCI)

Mr. Cheick Aboubakar Yvhane Chérif, holder of a Master’s degree in Communication from the French School of Press Attachés in Abidjan, is a versatile journalist. He is currently the General Director of CWai Media, Marketing, and Innovation, and also serves as the Director of Programs at Nouvelle Chaîne Ivoirienne (NCI).

He has innovated by diversifying his media group’s revenue sources, developing the events dimension, and creating digital content. As Director of Programs, he has established an attractive positioning and editorial content for NCI. Since 2019, NCI has garnered accolades and received strong support from the public in Côte d'Ivoire and beyond.

Mr. Cheick Aboubakar Yvhane Chérif created the “Jayli Awards,” a music awards ceremony broadcast on a major international television network. Named the best reporter in the Francophone world at the 2008 Prix Jean-Hélène by RFI/RSF, he has been ranked among the top 100 influential personalities in the country by ACLAP-CI from 2022 to 2024, and in 2024, among the 35 influential figures in the Francophone music industry by MAGO HIT.
