2025 Budget Closure Ceremony of the Ministry of Finance and Budget: Budget Stakeholders Urged to Enhance Performance
Abidjan, October 31, 2025 – The Financial Affairs Directorate (DAF) of the Ministry of Finance and Budget organized the 2025 budget closure ceremony on October 30, 2025, in Abidjan, with the aim of strengthening oversight of budget execution.
This meeting brought together all budget stakeholders of the ministry. Its objective was to review the execution of budget allocations, identify challenges and risks that could hinder credit utilization, and define practical measures to ensure optimal budget execution before the closure deadline.
In his address, the Head of Ministerial Financial Affairs, Amadou Timité, welcomed the strong engagement and commitment of participants, highlighting the importance of collective effort to achieve year-end budgetary objectives.
Amadou Timité presented the status of budget expenditure execution as of October 28, 2025, by expenditure category and program. He also reviewed the execution of investment project allocations across all programs.
He emphasized the need to strengthen coordination between administrative and financial actors to ensure full utilization of budget credits before closure.
The Deputy Director of Budget, Lassina Doumbia, outlined the operational constraints and challenges encountered during the 2025 execution period and shared recommendations to address them. He also recalled the deadlines set for the closure of 2025 budget operations, enabling the various departments to finalize commitments within the stipulated timeframe.
