Alain Gouaméné

Alain Gouaméné, born June 15, 1966 in Gagnoa, is a coach and former Ivorian international footballer, naturalized French in 1990. An African champion in 1992, he played as a goalkeeper, mainly for ASEC Mimosas, Raja CA and FC Toulouse.

Alain Gouaméné trained in Côte d'Ivoire before being spotted by African talent scouts. He was then transferred to Olympique Lyonnais, before, recognizing his limited playing time with Les Gones, he joined Raja de Casablanca, winners of the 1989 African Champion Clubs' Cup, in 1991. With this team, Alain Gouaméné became one of the greatest goalkeepers in Raja's history. He joined the French Ligue 1 in 1995, with Toulouse Football Club.

He holds the record for most appearances (7 between 1988 and 2004) at the African Cup of Nations with Côte d'Ivoire1.

He also won the CAN 92 and 5 Côte d'Ivoire championships. He is the father of three children, two girls and a boy.
