The Ministry of Digital Transition and Technological Innovation officially launched its 2026 budget on Monday, March 17, under the leadership of Minister Djibril Ouattara. The ministry’s budget for the year is set at 83.275 billion CFA francs, representing a 37 percent increase compared to 2025.
The minister outlined five strategic priorities aimed at transforming digital development in Ivory Coast: expanding access to the Internet, optimizing state revenue mobilization, developing digital skills and inclusion, strengthening cybersecurity, and promoting technological innovation.
As part of the budget launch, letters of commitment were handed to the heads of the ministry’s four budget programs to ensure effective and transparent implementation of planned projects.
Minister Djibril Ouattara also emphasized the principle of "just spending," stating that every franc invested must produce concrete results for citizens. This approach aims to enhance the efficiency of public investments and ensure that digital initiatives have a tangible impact on Ivorian society.
According to the ministry, the increased budget and strategic priorities are part of a broader objective to modernize the digital sector and foster technological innovation, which are considered key drivers for the country’s economic and social development.
