Abidjan, May 21, 2025 – Côte d’Ivoire and the West African Development Bank (BOAD) signed a loan agreement totaling 40 billion FCFA on February 7, 2025, to partially finance the construction project of 4,300 social and affordable housing units in Côte d’Ivoire (phase 2), and 1,200 housing units in Akoupé-Zeudji-PK 24 in Abidjan.
According to government spokesperson Amadou Coulibaly, the Council of Ministers, held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at the Presidential Palace in Abidjan-Plateau, adopted a decree ratifying the said agreement.
“In addition to the ongoing social and affordable housing construction programs, this project aims to provide more housing at affordable costs for vulnerable populations and those with low incomes,” explained Amadou Coulibaly.
