The President of the Republic, Alassane Ouattara, will be received on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at 1:00 PM (Paris time) by his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, for a working lunch at the Élysée Palace.

This meeting is part of the ongoing regular exchanges between the two Heads of State, who maintain close and strategic relations.

The topics on the agenda include security challenges in West Africa, particularly in the Sahel; bilateral economic cooperation; and the developments of major international geopolitical issues.

Presidents Alassane Ouattara and Emmanuel Macron have already had several opportunities to meet over the past few years. Notably, their one-on-one meeting in May 2021 in Paris on the sidelines of the Summit on Financing African Economies, as well as their encounter in February 2023 during the One Forest Summit in Libreville.

These regular exchanges demonstrate the central diplomatic role Côte d’Ivoire plays in the region and France’s ongoing interest in strengthening its cooperation with this strategic country.

Today's meeting is also expected to provide an update on the progress of joint projects, such as those related to education, infrastructure, and energy transition sectors in which France is a key partner.
