Jean-Louis Moulot, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Education, Literacy and Technical Education in charge of Technical Education, on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the Lycée technique d’Abidjan-Cocody, signed a strategic partnership with companies aimed at improving youth employability.
The signing of this mutual trust agreement between the State and the private sector took place during the Salon National de l’Enseignement Technique (SNET) 2026, held under the theme: “Technical Education, a Driver of Côte d’Ivoire’s Industrialization.”
This pact is structured around four key objectives, as outlined in its first article. These include co-construction, ensuring that training programs are fully aligned with the real needs of industries; shared governance, involving business leaders directly in the management of technical institutions; dual excellence, aimed at building a high-quality learning ecosystem where companies serve as a second classroom; and employability, ensuring that every diploma becomes a direct pathway to sustainable employment and a more competitive Ivorian industry.
“A significant proportion of the 400,000 young people entering the job market each year are absorbed by the informal sector, partly due to the persistent mismatch between training and labor market needs, particularly those of the private sector,” Minister Jean-Louis Moulot noted.
To address the employability challenge facing graduates of technical education, the minister has a clear vision: “Better training for better integration.” The signing of the Industry–Technical and Vocational Education Pact (PIETP) comes at a crucial time to tackle this issue.
