The President of the Independent Electoral Commission (CEI), Ibrahime Coulibaly-Kuibiert, unveiled the timetable for the 2025 legislative elections on Thursday, October 30, 2025, during an information and consultation meeting held at Latrielle Events in Cocody, Abidjan, with political parties, political groups, and citizens wishing to stand as candidates.
According to the schedule released, the period for submitting candidacy applications will run from October 31 to November 12, lasting thirteen days. Eligibility disputes will then be examined by the Constitutional Council starting November 19, 2025.
The electoral campaign will take place from Friday, December 19 at midnight to Friday, December 26, 2025 at midnight, for a total of eight days. “The campaign will exceptionally end on the eve of Election Day, to take into account the Christmas holiday,” explained Coulibaly-Kuibiert.
The vote will be held on Saturday, December 27, followed by the announcement of results between December 28 and 30. Any electoral disputes must be brought before the Constitutional Council no later than January 5, 2026.
The CEI President reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to conducting the electoral process with transparency, fairness, and respect for legal deadlines, in order to ensure peaceful and credible legislative elections.
