Côte d’Ivoire Signs Major Education Partnership at Education World Forum 2026 in London

N’Guessan Koffi, Côte d’Ivoire’s Minister of National Education, Literacy and Technical Education, chaired the signing of a major partnership agreement with Forth Valley College at the Embassy of Côte d’Ivoire in the United Kingdom on Buckingham Palace Road. Forth Valley College is a leading institution offering more than 750 training programs, including full-time, part-time, and apprenticeship courses.

The signing ceremony took place on the sidelines of the Education World Forum 2026, held in London from May 17 to 20 under the theme: “Educating for a Common Future: Peace, Planet, Purpose and Pathways.”

During the forum, Minister N’Guessan Koffi reaffirmed the commitment of Alassane Ouattara and the Ivorian government “to make national education, literacy and technical education the fundamental drivers of a greater Côte d’Ivoire.”

In London, the minister also delivered a presentation during a breakfast debate at the Queen Elizabeth II Centre on the theme: “AI-Based Learning in West Africa.”

He further held discussions with Stephania Gianini, Director of EFEKTA Education, as well as delegations from Cambridge International Education, International Finance Facility for Education, and the Jacobs Foundation. During these meetings, he presented Côte d’Ivoire’s reforms aimed at promoting quality and inclusive education in line with the theme of the London forum.

The minister also exchanged views with several counterparts, including Alpha Bacar Barry, Guinea’s Minister of National Education, Literacy, Technical Education and Vocational Training. It should be recalled that Côte d’Ivoire and Guinea signed a framework cooperation agreement in Abidjan a month ago to share experiences and address persistent challenges related to improving the quality of education systems and combating illiteracy.

The Education World Forum, the world’s largest gathering of education ministers, aims to support countries in building inclusive, high-quality, and future-ready education systems that foster resilience, innovation, and a shared sense of responsibility.
