Côte d’Ivoire Supreme Court Visits French Cassation Court

The President of the Supreme Court of Côte d’Ivoire, Yua Koffi, and his delegation were received on Monday, February 2026, by Christophe Soulard, First President of the Court of Cassation of France, in the presence of Clémence Bourillon, Judge at the French Court of Cassation in charge of international relations.

The purpose of this mission was to allow the members of the delegation to learn from the experience of the French Court of Cassation in managing procedures and organizing the administration of the judiciary.

President Yua Koffi emphasized that this visit will contribute to strengthening the capacities of the different departments of the Supreme Court of Côte d’Ivoire, particularly in terms of digitalizing procedures and managing judges’ offices. He also noted that it was natural for the Ivorian Court of Cassation to learn from these advancements, especially regarding IT and communication systems. During the visit, he presented his French counterpart with two volumes of the Reports of Judgments of the Supreme Court of Côte d’Ivoire as well as the Manual of Cassation Practice.

For his part, the First President of the Court of Cassation of France welcomed the visit and informed the delegation about the recent publication of a book dedicated to cassation law and practice in France. Clémence Bourillon presented the Court’s policy of openness, highlighting its focus on exchanges with other courts, dissemination of case law, and the development of international partnerships.

The delegation led by President Yua Koffi included a chamber president and an adviser, the Director of Documentation, Publications and Archives, the Director of Continuing Education and Internships, the Director of Information Systems, the Director of Communication, heads of departments, and members of the President’s office.
