The Côte d’Ivoire Mediation Authority is participating in the 3rd International Conference of Mediators and Ombudsmen, held on May 28–29, 2026 at the Italian Chamber of Deputies in Rome.
The event brings together global experts under the theme: “The role of the Ombudsman in the protection of rights in a changing world,” focusing on the evolving challenges faced by mediation institutions worldwide.
Organized by Marino Fardelli, the conference gathers 120 delegations from 83 countries, as well as students and representatives from academic institutions.
Côte d’Ivoire is represented by officials from the Mediator of the Republic, including Secretary General Tanguy Dimitri Koné and Deputy Director for Cooperation with mediation institutions Héloïse Kouassi Assamoi.
The Ivorian delegation is actively engaged in discussions on institutional communication and transparency, with a focus on how to bring citizens closer to the Ombudsman’s role.
The conference features five thematic working sessions addressing key issues in mediation, governance, and the protection of citizens’ rights in a rapidly changing global context.
Officials say the participation of Côte d’Ivoire reflects its commitment to strengthening institutional dialogue and improving access to justice through mediation mechanisms.
