Côte d’Ivoire and Turkey Strengthen Cooperation on 2026–2030 National Development Plan

On Tuesday, February 17, 2026, the Ivorian Minister of Planning and Development, Dr. Souleymane Diarrassouba, held a meeting with the Ambassador of Turkey to Côte d’Ivoire, His Excellency Deniz Erdogan Barim, at his office in Plateau.

At the start of the meeting, the minister extended the traditional “Akwaba” welcome to his distinguished guest, reflecting the warmth of Ivorian hospitality. In return, the Turkish ambassador congratulated Dr. Diarrassouba on his appointment as Minister of Planning and Development and wished him every success in his new role.

During their discussions, Ambassador Deniz Erdogan Barim reaffirmed Turkey’s commitment to supporting Côte d’Ivoire in implementing the 2026–2030 National Development Plan (PND). She pledged to mobilize all available public and private instruments to provide both direct and indirect financing for key strategic sectors, including health, industry, construction, digitalization, and other major projects.

Speaking in turn, the Minister expressed his gratitude for the visit and for Turkey’s engagement alongside Côte d’Ivoire. He also highlighted the mobilization of international partners, noting that it aligns with the call of President Alassane Ouattara to secure funding for the PND 2026–2030.

Dr. Diarrassouba also outlined the six structural pillars of the new plan and invited Turkey to align its support with the government’s defined priorities.

In conclusion, the minister reassured that the PND 2026–2030 will be “more dynamic, more transparent, and more accessible,” reflecting the Ivorian authorities’ determination to make the program a major driver of the country’s economic and social transformation.

This meeting underscores the continuing strengthening of cooperation between Abidjan and Ankara, as well as the growing interest of international partners in the sustainable development of Côte d’Ivoire.
