Côte d’Ivoire plans to support 5.3 million young people through its Government Youth Program (PJGouv) for the 2026-2030 period, backed by a budget of 2,869.4 billion CFA francs, as authorities seek to strengthen youth employment, skills development and social inclusion. The initiative is part of the government’s broader strategy to develop human capital and provide more economic opportunities for the country’s growing youth population.

The program includes the construction and rehabilitation of 644 training facilities and youth-related infrastructures across the country, alongside initiatives focused on vocational training, entrepreneurship, civic awareness and the fight against social challenges affecting young people. The government said the program aims to improve access to skills, promote sustainable employment and encourage greater participation of youth in national development.

The PJGouv 2026-2030 is aligned with Côte d’Ivoire’s development priorities under the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030, which places youth empowerment, job creation and human capital development among its key objectives. Through this investment, authorities hope to transform young people into a major driver of economic growth and social progress.
