Côte d’Ivoire seeks stronger partner support for CFA 114.8 trillion development plan

Vice President Tiémoko Meyliet Koné called on development partners, international and regional financial institutions, the private sector, and civil society to strengthen their support for the successful implementation of Côte d’Ivoire’s 2026–2030 National Development Plan (NDP), which is estimated to require investments totaling CFA 114.8385 trillion, with approximately 70% expected to come from the private sector.

Speaking on behalf of President Alassane Ouattara, the Vice President officially opened the Consultative Group meeting on the financing of the 2026–2030 National Development Plan on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire in Abidjan.

"The Ivorian government is holding this meeting with a clear vision of its strategic priorities, planned reforms, and transformative projects. In return, it expects stronger support from development partners, financial institutions, and the private sector to provide this new development plan with the resources needed to ensure its full success," the Vice President said.

According to Tiémoko Meyliet Koné, the Consultative Group meeting marks a major milestone in implementing the Côte d’Ivoire 2030 Vision launched by President Alassane Ouattara, whose ambition is to transform Côte d’Ivoire into an upper-middle-income country.

"Together, we will mobilize the resources required to successfully implement this new development plan and build a Côte d’Ivoire that is more prosperous, more resilient, and more inclusive," he added.

The Vice President noted that the new National Development Plan focuses on accelerating the local processing of raw materials, strengthening productivity in the agricultural and industrial sectors, unlocking the country's significant mining potential, and supporting the energy transition.

The plan also prioritizes the creation of more jobs for young people and women, while promoting research, innovation, digital transformation, and continuous improvements in public administration efficiency.

According to Minister of Planning and Development Souleymane Diarrassouba, the first day of the Consultative Group meeting is dedicated to discussions with development partners on the government's vision, the priorities of the 2026–2030 National Development Plan, and the conditions for its implementation.

The agenda also includes thematic panel discussions, exhibitions by 48 government institutions showcasing investment projects and business opportunities, and financing announcements by development partners.

The second day will focus on investors through presentations of investment opportunities, business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-government (B2G) meetings aimed at fostering new partnerships, as well as the signing of cooperation agreements and memoranda of understanding.
