The Ivorian government has reaffirmed its national digital policies and strategies, structured around seven pillars and forty strategic projects. The announcement was made during the 7th Ordinary Session of the Conference of Plenipotentiaries (CPL-26), held from 16 to 24 July 2026 in Abuja, Nigeria, where Côte d’Ivoire participated as an invited country of the African Telecommunications Union (ATU).

The Ivorian delegation was composed of His Excellency Kalilou Traoré, Ambassador of Côte d’Ivoire to Nigeria, Roger Félix Adom, Chairman of the Board of the Telecommunications/ICT Regulatory Authority of Côte d’Ivoire (ARTCI), several members of the ARTCI Board, Kanvoli Kakou Stanislas, Director of International Cooperation at the Ministry of Digital Transition and Technological Innovation, as well as technical officials from the ministry.

During Côte d’Ivoire’s official statement presenting the country’s national digital policies and strategies, Roger Félix Adom outlined the government’s vision and ambitions for digital development, structured around seven key pillars and forty major projects designed to accelerate the country’s digital transformation.

As part of the campaign promoting Côte d’Ivoire’s candidacy for a seat on the Council of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Roger Félix Adom also called on member states to support Côte d’Ivoire’s re-election during the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference (PP-26), scheduled to take place in Qatar in November 2026.

It should be noted that Abidjan has been selected by the African Telecommunications Union (ATU) to host the final African Preparatory Meeting in September, ahead of the ITU PP-26. The meeting will aim to strengthen coordination and harmonize the continent’s position before the global conference.

Côte d’Ivoire’s participation in the Abuja summit concluded with its re-election to the ATU Administrative Council, further strengthening the country’s influence within regional telecommunications institutions.

Côte d’Ivoire welcomed this diplomatic achievement, which confirms its growing role on the regional stage and highlights its commitment to advancing digital development across Africa. The country has therefore set a date with the continent in Abidjan in September, to help prepare for the success of Africa’s participation at the ITU PP-26 in Qatar.
