The Consul of Côte d’Ivoire in New York, Inza Camara, has reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the Ivorian diaspora in its contribution to the country’s National Development Plan (PND) 2026–2030. He welcomed an initiative led by Me Ayssata Coulibaly-Diabi, president of the Ivorian Office for Diaspora Inclusion in Development (BIDD), aimed at strengthening the involvement of Ivorians abroad in the country’s development efforts.
During a meeting with the organisers of the initiative, Inza Camara praised their commitment to what he described as a “noble” cause of great importance to Côte d’Ivoire. For the diplomat, the priority now is to turn the recommendations made into concrete and sustainable actions benefiting both the country and its diaspora.
As part of this effort, a desk of the Ivorian Office for Diaspora Inclusion in Development (BIDD) will be established at the Consulate of Côte d’Ivoire in New York. The platform is expected to strengthen cooperation among stakeholders and facilitate support for investors from the diaspora.
“In collaboration with the Consulate, we will work to support investors from the diaspora,” Ambassador Inza Camara said, reflecting a shared commitment to creating a favourable environment for their involvement in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic development and investment opportunities.
The discussions also identified concrete areas for cooperation and laid the foundations for a partnership aimed at effectively supporting initiatives linked to the PND 2026–2030.
Through this commitment, the Consul of Côte d’Ivoire in New York is reaffirming his willingness to support initiatives benefiting the diaspora and to help build stronger links between Ivorians abroad, national institutions and investment opportunities.
The ultimate goal is to increase the diaspora’s contribution to Côte d’Ivoire’s development, in line with the ambitions of the PND 2026–2030.
