The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Côte d’Ivoire hosted the official handover ceremony of equipment for the Ivorian Armed Forces (FACI) on Tuesday, as part of the European Peace Facility. This initiative is part of the European Union’s support to strengthen the country’s defense capabilities.
The assistance includes communication equipment, surveillance systems, and operational vehicles, aimed at enhancing the FACI’s capacity to respond to various threats on national territory, while fully respecting human rights.
On this occasion, Téné Birahima Ouattara, representing President Alassane Ouattara, emphasized the strategic importance of this cooperation. According to him, this support directly contributes to security, stability, and the protection of the population, demonstrating Côte d’Ivoire’s commitment to strengthening its defense system while reinforcing international partnerships.
This marks another step in the collaboration between Côte d’Ivoire and the European Union, which has previously supported several security and defense projects. Ivorian authorities reaffirmed their commitment to deepening this exemplary cooperation in the service of peace and stability in the country.
