The Ivorian Ministry of National Education, Literacy and Technical Education has launched an exceptional recruitment drive for 2,000 secondary school teachers in scientific disciplines, particularly mathematics and physics-chemistry / life and earth sciences (SVT).

The recruitment process includes two competitive tests: one for contractual bilingual teachers for junior secondary schools (collèges) and another for contractual teachers for senior secondary schools (lycées) in general education.

The first test aims to recruit 1,078 contractual bilingual mathematics teachers and 286 contractual bilingual physics-chemistry/Life and Earth Sciences (SVT) teachers for junior secondary schools, representing a total of 1,364 positions. The second test will recruit 418 contractual mathematics teachers and 218 contractual physics-chemistry teachers for senior secondary schools, bringing the total to 636 positions.

Applications must be submitted online via the website of the Institut pédagogique national de l’Enseignement technique et professionnel from March 7 to March 15, 2026.

For the 636 contractual senior secondary school teachers, applicants must be Ivorian nationals, born between December 31, 1981, and December 31, 2005, and must hold a scientific baccalaureate (series C, D, E, or F) as well as a BAC+2 level diploma in pure sciences such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, industrial sciences, or mathematics and computer science. Registration for the recruitment process is completely free of charge.

For both competitions, the application file to be submitted after eligibility includes: the printed online registration form, a cover letter addressed to the Minister of National Education and signed by the applicant, a certified copy of transcripts, the baccalaureate success certificate, copies of university diplomas, a detailed CV signed and certified as truthful, the original birth certificate extract, an original criminal record issued within the last three months, the original certificate of nationality, a copy of a valid national identity card or passport, a copy of the CMU health card or proof of registration, as well as two passport-size color photos with a white background.

A medical examination will also be conducted during the physical submission of the application file in order to obtain a medical fitness certificate for teaching duties.

Since his appointment on January 23, 2026, Koffi N’Guessan has set a strong pace and clear direction for the ministry, aiming to make scientific disciplines a pillar of the transformation of Côte d’Ivoire’s education system. Known for his management skills and his ability to drive structural reforms, the minister intends to leverage his experience to strengthen both the attractiveness and performance of the Ivorian school system.
