Canal aux Bois Development Works Progressing Satisfactorily, Says Cissé Bacongo

The development and beautification work at Canal aux Bois, located in the Treichville commune, are progressing satisfactorily, announced on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, the Minister-Governor of the Autonomous District of Abidjan, Cissé Ibrahima Bacongo.

In a post on his Facebook page, the Minister-Governor explained that this iconic site is undergoing a major transformation. The project notably includes the creation of a waterfall, play and performance areas, and modern landscaping, aimed at revitalizing this historic site in the commune.

These works are part of the urban modernization and redevelopment initiatives undertaken by the Autonomous District authorities, with the goal of improving residents’ living environment, enhancing the well-being of inhabitants, and increasing the attractiveness of Abidjan.

Ultimately, Canal aux Bois is expected to become a modern leisure and recreation space, contributing to the valorization of urban heritage and the cultural and social life of Treichville.
