Thousands of Christian and Muslim faithful gathered on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the Amadou Gon Coulibaly Stadium in Korhogo for a major prayer event dedicated to peace, stability, and social cohesion in Côte d’Ivoire. The event also included the distribution of food kits to local communities.
The spiritual gathering, which brought together nearly 20,000 participants, took place during a significant period marked by both Ramadan for Muslims and the Christian Lent season, symbolizing solidarity and unity among religious communities.
During the ceremony, the Bishop of the Diocese of Korhogo, Armand Koné, and the President of the COSIM, represented by Cheick Aboubacar Konaté, led prayers for peace, unity, and national stability.
Both religious leaders delivered messages of forgiveness, tolerance, and brotherhood, urging citizens to preserve harmony among different religious and social communities.
They also prayed for the President of the Republic, Alassane Ouattara, asking God to grant him good health and longevity so he may continue his efforts toward development and peace in the country.
In addition to the prayers, approximately 20,000 food kits, including bags of rice, were distributed to support families during this period of spirituality and sharing.
These donations, offered in the name of the Head of State, were warmly welcomed by both Muslim and Christian communities, who expressed gratitude for the gesture of solidarity toward the people of Korhogo.
The organizers concluded by thanking religious leaders, traditional authorities, local officials, and residents for their strong mobilization, stating that the initiative reflects the deep commitment of Korhogo’s population to the values of peace, fraternity, and solidarity.
