(CAP and BT) Across Six Fields, Says Minister N’Guessan Koffi

Abidjan, October 7, 2025 — As part of the newly established network of vocational high schools, the Diabo Multisectoral Vocational High School offers training in six disciplines: General Mechanics, Boiler Making and Welding, Agricultural Mechanical Maintenance, Livestock, Building and Public Works, and Food Industry Processing and Quality Control, according to the Minister of Technical Education, Vocational Training and Apprenticeship, N’Guessan Koffi.

The inauguration ceremony of the Diabo Multisectoral Vocational High School, located in the Gbêkê region, took place on Sunday, October 5, 2025, under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé.

The institution provides two types of diplomas: the Certificat d’Aptitude Professionnelle (CAP) and the Brevet de Technicien (BT).

In terms of capacity, Minister N’Guessan Koffi indicated that the school is starting with 1,000 students, of which 250 will be accommodated in the dormitory.

Regarding the staff, the Minister noted that the institution currently has 13 specialty trainers, 12 general education instructors, and 18 administrative officers.

Beyond education, the Diabo Multisectoral Vocational High School — built on a 7-hectare site with an additional 13-hectare reserve — is also expected to serve as a driver of local development.

“Through its industrial unit, both agricultural and livestock products will be processed and better valued. I encourage the talented and passionate youth of this region to enroll and acquire professional skills that will enhance their employability,” said the Minister.

As the main architect behind the project for the new vocational high schools, Minister N’Guessan also emphasized that graduates will have the opportunity to continue their training in partner institutions in Africa or other parts of the world.

According to him, the availability of skilled workers, technicians, senior technicians, and highly qualified engineers is a key prerequisite and catalyst for industrial development.

He expressed deep gratitude to President Alassane Ouattara, who authorized the construction of this major facility:

“The establishment of this Multisectoral Vocational High School is part of the policy of His Excellency Alassane Ouattara, President of the Republic, in favor of the youth of our country.”

It should be noted that the Diabo Multisectoral Vocational High School, directed by Mrs. Sira Samaké, is one of seven vocational high schools scheduled to open during the 2025–2026 academic year. The others are located in Ebimpé, Yamoussoukro, Dabakala, Kong, Korhogo, and Gbéléban, all built through a partnership with the Chinese company AVIC Intl Project Engineering Company.
