Electrification: Several New Neighborhoods in Anyama Now Connected to the Power Grid

Abidjan, October 7, 2025 — In the commune of Anyama, several new neighborhoods — including Belleville 3, Lycée Jeune Fille, Berthé, Médine, and Dubaï — are now connected to the national electricity grid. This achievement follows the construction by CI-Energies of the 225/33 kV Abobo-Anyama substation and the restructuring of the medium-voltage network (HTA).

On Monday, October 6, 2025, Noumory Sidibé, Director General of CI-Energies, and Fatima Bamba, Mayor of Anyama, visited the substation and several beneficiary neighborhoods to assess the quality and reliability of the new power supply.

“This substation in Anyama, which is nearing completion, is a key element in our network development strategy,” explained Noumory Sidibé. “Just as we did in Duékoué a few months ago and as ongoing works in the Folon region, these efforts in Anyama aim to address voltage drops, improve supply quality, and serve newly developed areas.”

He also announced that similar projects are underway in other regions, including Sassandra, to strengthen electricity distribution nationwide.

For her part, Mayor Fatima Bamba expressed deep gratitude to the President of the Republic and the government:

“For the past few months, we have truly been relieved in Anyama. On behalf of the Municipal Council and the people of Anyama, I extend our heartfelt thanks to the Head of State for this tremendous work. Today, we enjoy 24-hour electricity — our power issues are behind us. We move forward, as the President always says, in peace, development, and stability.”

Residents also shared their satisfaction. Soungalo Koné, a youth leader in Belleville René Extension 3, said:

“It’s a great relief for us. We thank President Alassane Ouattara. Thanks to the government, our neighborhood is now electrified. Nighttime insecurity will decrease since we can now move around after 6 p.m., and our economic activities will thrive.”
