Ferkessédougou Dry Port: Government Completes Resettlement for Affected Populations

On January 26, 2025, the Minister of Transport, Amadou Koné, chaired a ceremony for the distribution of compensation checks to customary landholders and populations affected by the Ferkessédougou Dry Port project.

The Ferkessédougou Dry Port, a key economic transformation lever, is set to play a crucial role in opening up the Tchologo region and reducing logistics costs for business operators. It aligns with the "Côte d'Ivoire Solidaire" vision advocated by President Alassane Ouattara.

During the ceremony, Minister Koné praised the people of Tchologo for their mobilization and sense of sacrifice. “This 4.7 billion FCFA allocation, bringing the total social funding to 14 billion FCFA, reflects the government's commitment to ensuring the dignified resettlement of affected populations,” he stated.

Issa Ouattara, a representative of the beneficiaries, expressed gratitude to the authorities for their involvement and the compensation received. “These funds will ease the burden on our families. We are committed to using them to invest in projects that will strengthen the development of our region,” he said.

It is worth noting that work on the Ferkessédougou Dry Port is progressing rapidly, driven by the community's support and the government's determination to make this infrastructure a driving force for development in the region and the wider West African sub-region, as it will enhance economic exchanges in the area.
