Gambling sector in Côte d’Ivoire: a Monitoring, Control and Security Unit established to support the Regulatory Authority

A Monitoring, Control and Security Unit for the gambling sector in Côte d’Ivoire has been established by the government to support the work of the Gambling Regulatory Authority, government spokesperson and Minister of Communication, Amadou Coulibaly, announced following the Council of Ministers meeting on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at the Presidential Palace in Abidjan-Plateau.

“The Council of Ministers adopted a decree establishing the Monitoring Unit for the gambling sector in Côte d’Ivoire, including its mandate, composition, and operational framework. This Monitoring Unit is a technical service created to support the Gambling Regulatory Authority. It is responsible for overseeing, controlling, and securing gambling platforms,” explained Amadou Coulibaly.

The Unit is composed of sworn officers from public security forces and officials from the Gambling Regulatory Authority, the government spokesperson added: “It is endowed with broad powers of investigation, reporting, and enforcement of offenses related to gambling activities across the entire national territory.”
