IMF Deputy Managing Director Visits Côte d’Ivoire to Strengthen Economic Partnership

The cooperation between Côte d’Ivoire and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) continues to strengthen. The IMF Deputy Managing Director, Kenji Okamura, leading a large delegation, is on a working visit to the country.

On Friday, February 6, 2026, he held talks with the Minister of Economy, Finance, and Budget, Adama Coulibaly, focusing on the state of the partnership and other economic and financial matters.

In this context, on Saturday, February 7, 2026, Kenji Okamura and his delegation, accompanied by Côte d’Ivoire’s IMF Executive Director, Wautabouna Ouattara, conducted field visits to the factories of Groupe Cémoi, specializing in cocoa processing in the Yopougon industrial zone, and Valency International Trading, responsible for cashew processing in Attingué. They observed the working conditions in both industrial enterprises firsthand.

Before these visits, the IMF Deputy Managing Director and his team paid respects with visits to Saint-Paul Cathedral and Salam Mosque in Plateau.

The working sessions of Deputy Managing Director Kenji Okamura, which began last Friday, are scheduled to conclude on Wednesday, February 11.
