INP-HB / COOPERATION: Institut National Polytechnique Félix Houphouët-Boigny (INP-HB) and Accra Technical University sign strategic partnership for academic excellence
The Institut National Polytechnique Félix Houphouët-Boigny (INP-HB) continues to strengthen its international outreach and academic partnerships. On Friday, May 29, 2026, the institution hosted a high-level delegation from Accra Technical University (ATU), led by its Vice-Chancellor, Professor Amevi Akakpovi, for the official signing of a partnership agreement between the two institutions.
This agreement aims to establish a structured and sustainable academic collaboration between INP-HB and ATU, with the objective of promoting excellence in teaching, scientific research, and institutional development through innovative and strategic cooperation.
Representing the Director General of INP-HB, Professor Georges Loum, Deputy Director General in charge of Academic Affairs and Student Life (DGA/PVE), expressed the Institute’s commitment to strengthening its relationship with this prestigious Ghanaian university. He highlighted the numerous opportunities offered by this partnership, particularly in student and faculty exchanges, the sharing of academic programs, and the development of joint research projects.
He emphasized that this cooperation opens new perspectives for both institutions, which share common ambitions in education, research, and innovation.
In his remarks, Professor Amevi Akakpovi welcomed the signing of this agreement, describing it as a major milestone for Accra Technical University. He also recalled that this initiative builds on and renews an already existing collaboration since 2016, particularly in the field of language-based student mobility.
The ceremony also featured institutional presentations from both universities, followed by open and enriching discussions covering several topics, including the founding dates of the institutions, the various engineering programs offered, and student enrollment figures.
Through this agreement, both institutions commit to facilitating exchanges of administrative staff, lecturers, and students; promoting joint research and innovation; sharing expertise and best practices; strengthening institutional capacities; and fostering mutual growth and a lasting impact within the African academic space.
As part of this collaboration, INP-HB and ATU will also keep each other informed about their respective activities in the areas covered by the agreement and will jointly seek funding opportunities to support the implementation of the agreed objectives.
The partnership agreement enters into force on the date of signature for a period of three (3) years, renewable by tacit agreement.
