The Minister of Technical Education, Vocational Training, and Apprenticeship, N’Guessan Koffi, officially launched on Saturday, November 8, 2025, the development works of the sports field at the Ebimpé Technical and Vocational High School in Anyama. The ceremony was held in the presence of Adjé Silas Metch, Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister in charge of Sports and Living Environment.
This initiative comes just one month after the signing of an agreement between the Ministry of Technical Education and Vocational Training and the Ministry of Sports, through the National Sports Office (ONS), for the development of four football pitches to international standards in four technical and vocational institutions. These include the Ebimpé Technical and Vocational High School, the Jacqueville Vocational High School, the Yopougon Industrial Vocational High School, and the Yamoussoukro Vocational High School.
“These football fields will facilitate, in the future, the organization of physical education sessions and inter-school competitions,” said Minister N’Guessan Koffi.
According to him, the Technical Education and Vocational Training sector will experience renewed dynamism, as the construction of high-quality sports infrastructure is a key factor in attracting young people.
“These facilities will contribute to truly transforming the image of the Technical Education and Vocational Training sector. Indeed, sports offer many benefits for young people: it greatly improves health, strengthens mental resilience, and serves as a powerful means of social interaction and talent development,” he emphasized.
The Minister also announced that beyond football, other sports disciplines such as swimming, cycling, and athletics could be promoted.
For his part, Adjé Silas Metch noted that this ceremony marks the official launch of all the activities covered by the agreement.
He further explained that the project also includes the rehabilitation of football fields in Dimbokro, Katiola, Aboisso, and Daloa. Moreover, it will provide an opportunity to place 96 young people trained in sports-related professions—holders of the Professional Qualification Certificate (CQP)—in internships with the selected companies. These young trainees will progressively integrate into the workforce, with the prospect of obtaining fixed-term contracts after a skills enhancement internship.
A modern facility with cutting-edge architecture and equipment, the Ebimpé Technical and Vocational High School opened its doors this year. It currently accommodates 610 students, with a total capacity of 2,000. The institution offers nine training programs: general mechanics, electrical installation, electronics, vehicle and equipment maintenance, metalwork and welding, printing, refrigeration and air conditioning, heavy machinery operation, and food industry processing and quality control.
