Abidjan, April 23, 2025 – The Vice President of the Republic, Tiémoko Meyliet Koné, led a high-level delegation to the Nutrition for Growth Summit held on March 27 and 28, 2025, in Paris. He reaffirmed Côte d’Ivoire’s determination to eliminate all forms of malnutrition by 2030, notably through the implementation of its 2024–2027 Multisectoral Nutrition Plan.
This information was shared by government spokesperson Amadou Coulibaly following the Council of Ministers meeting held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, in Abidjan.
While emphasizing the urgency of a collective and resolute response to malnutrition, the Vice President highlighted the commitment of President Alassane Ouattara, which has been demonstrated through major initiatives such as the implementation of the multisectoral nutrition plan, the creation of the Regional Center of Excellence against Hunger and Malnutrition (CERFAM) made available to African countries, and the establishment of the Côte d’Ivoire CERFAM Excellence Award.
On the sidelines of the summit, Tiémoko Meyliet Koné also held discussions with leaders of United Nations institutions, as well as with representatives from various development partners involved in nutrition. These partners expressed strong interest in the roundtable for financing the national nutrition plan, scheduled for May 15, 2025, in Abidjan.
