Presiding over the official launch ceremony of the reform of the National Chamber of Agriculture (CNA) on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, in Yamoussoukro, the Minister of State, Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development, and Food Production, Kobenan Kouassi Adjoumani, emphasized that this initiative marks a historic milestone in the institutional transformation of the agricultural sector.
“The process we are initiating today aims to establish a modern, credible, and inclusive Chamber of Agriculture that reflects the ambition we hold for our agricultural sector. This ceremony is therefore of great significance—it marks a historic step in the institutional transformation of our agricultural sector,” stated Minister Kobenan Kouassi Adjoumani.
According to the Minister of State, this is a comprehensive reform built on the realities of the field, designed to place agricultural producers at the heart of decision-making.
The Chamber of Agriculture, he continued, represents the agricultural profession. It serves as a privileged interface between producers and the State, playing a central role in the governance of the rural world—as a body of representation, consultation, guidance, advocacy, and development.
As such, the Chamber must adapt its governance to the demands of modern development, addressing challenges related to competitiveness, sustainability, land management, food security, and climate change, while consolidating the agricultural sector’s position within public policies.
This national-scale ceremony was marked not only by the strong mobilization of agricultural stakeholders but also by a solemn declaration of support from producers to the President of the Republic, Alassane Ouattara. They praised the visionary leadership of the Head of State and his unwavering commitment to the rural world, describing his efforts as yet another “sacrifice for the nation.”
