Between Korhogo and Boundiali, the road landscape has transformed. Spanning 99 kilometers, this vital link serving several localities in northern Côte d'Ivoire now offers significantly improved driving conditions for commuters, following years marked by severe road degradation.

This infrastructure upgrade aligns with the ongoing investments made by the Government to strengthen the road network and facilitate mobility across the entire national territory. Between 2011 and 2024, more than 4,000 billion FCFA was invested in the road sector.

For drivers who travel this route daily, the benefits are immediately tangible. Adama Coulibaly, a local driver, expressed his delight at being able to travel more easily to Boundiali and surrounding villages, thanks to a now smoothly navigable road.

Traoré Losseni recalls a time when ubiquitous potholes severely impacted his livelihood. "Before, it was extremely difficult. I would work for one day and spend the next two days at the mechanic," he shared, highlighting the dramatic improvement seen today. Satisfied with the transformation, he praised the Government's sustained efforts in the transport sector and the upgrading of infrastructure across regional cities.

Beyond driver comfort, the Korhogo-Boundiali connection serves as a key strategic corridor for northern Côte d'Ivoire. It facilitates the movement of people and goods while actively boosting trade among the communities it serves.

The nationwide drive to modernize the network is reflected in the official figures recorded between 2011 and 2024: 1,927 kilometers of new paved roads constructed and 1,967 kilometers of degraded roads reinforced. Over the same period, the total paved road network expanded from 6,514 to 8,500 kilometers, according to the Government's 2011–2025 progress report on road infrastructure.
