Social Media Misconduct: Prosecutor Offers 1 Million FCFA for Information Leading to Arrest of Two Individuals (National Police)

The Prosecutor of the Republic at the Abidjan First Instance Court, Koné Braman Oumar, has offered a reward of 1 million FCFA to anyone providing anonymous information that leads to the identification and arrest of two individuals actively sought by the national police.

Previously, the Ivorian National Police issued a public call for witnesses to help locate these individuals and bring them before the competent courts for the offenses they are accused of.

The information was reported by the Directorate General of the National Police (DGPN) in a press release consulted by Abidjan.net on Sunday, October 5, 2025.

Through Witness Call No. 38, the Prosecutor offers 1 million FCFA for information that allows authorities to identify and apprehend the suspects, specifying that tips can remain anonymous.

According to available information, the two individuals are accused of misconduct involving inappropriate language on social media. On September 26, during a meeting with social media page administrators, the Prosecutor of the Republic at the Abidjan Plateau First Instance Court, Koné Braman Oumar, warned against such linguistic abuses online, announcing the start of legal action against such offenses.
