On Friday, October 25, 2024, Côte d'Ivoire’s Minister of Culture and Francophonie, Françoise Remarck, chaired the meeting of Culture Ministers from the eight UEMOA member states in Ouagadougou. The ministers examined the framework document for creating the "UEMOA Culture Credit Fund," a groundbreaking initiative within the UEMOA community.
Designed to meet the specific needs of cultural and creative industries, the Culture Credit Fund will provide structured and sustainable financial support, shifting focus from subsidies to impactful investment. This fund aims to boost local entrepreneurs and creators, enhancing their competitiveness and expanding access to regional and international markets.
Côte d'Ivoire, a leader in structuring cultural industries, shared its experiences and best practices, highlighting its success in protecting artists' rights and supporting creative sectors.
