On Friday, July 11, 2025, a Vietnamese delegation led by His Excellency Vu Hong Thanh, Vice President of the National Assembly and member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, paid a visit to the Senate office in Abidjan.
The delegation was received by Mrs. Sarra Sako Fadika, Vice President in charge of parliamentary affairs, representing Her Excellency Mrs. Kandia Kamissoko Camara, President of the Senate.
She was accompanied by Mr. Djedjé Ilahiri Alcide, Chairman of the Commission on Foreign Relations and Ivorians Abroad; Mr. Coffi Michel Benoît, Chairman of the Commission on Social and Cultural Affairs; as well as several senators and members of the Senate administration.
It is also worth noting the presence at this meeting of a delegation of Members of Parliament, led by Mr. Woi Mela Gaston, Vice President of the National Assembly of Côte d’Ivoire.
Several topics were discussed during the meeting, including the strengthening of economic cooperation and, more importantly, parliamentary collaboration between Côte d’Ivoire and Vietnam.
At the end of the meeting, it was proposed that focal points be appointed within each chamber to work toward the realization of the shared desire for closer parliamentary relations between the two countries.
