During the 13th session of the Assembly of States Parties of the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA), held in Vienna, Austria, on October 30, 2024, Professor Gbakou Monnet Benoît Patrick, Chief of Staff to the President of the High Authority for Good Governance (HABG), was elected as a member of the prestigious Council of Governors of IACA. This appointment marks a significant advance for Côte d'Ivoire in its fight against corruption and confirms its commitment within international governance bodies.
This election reflects recognition of the hard work and dedication of the HABG President, Zoro Bi Ballo Épiphane, whose dynamism and vision for a transparent and effective administration have been crucial. Under his leadership, Côte d'Ivoire has established itself as a key player in the fight against corruption, not only on the African continent but also on the global stage.
The choice of Gbakou Monnet Benoît Patrick to sit on the Council of Governors of IACA carries strong symbolic significance, as Côte d'Ivoire also holds the vice-presidency of the Academy. This underscores the renewed trust of the international community in the Ivorian efforts to promote integrity and ethics within public institutions.
The IACA Council of Governors, composed of international experts in anti-corruption, plays a key role in strategic guidance and oversight of the Academy's activities. Gbakou Monnet Benoît Patrick's presence at this decision-making level will not only enhance exchanges between IACA and Côte d'Ivoire but also contribute to the global visibility of Ivorian initiatives.
