Turkey Equips Ivorian Jewelry School with Modern Tools

Thanks to the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), the Ivorian School of Jewelry and Related Trades (EIBMA), located in Abidjan-Marcory Zone 4, has received state-of-the-art equipment. This includes technical jewelry tools, computers, 3D printers, and personal protective equipment to enhance training conditions for both students and instructors.

On Friday, October 4, 2024, the Minister of Technical Education, Vocational Training, and Apprenticeship, Koffi N'Guessan, received the equipment from Turkey's Deputy Foreign Minister, Burhanettin Duran. Minister N'Guessan expressed his gratitude for the donation, emphasizing that this contribution marks a significant step towards modernizing the facilities and improving learning conditions at EIBMA. He noted that with these modern tools, the institution will better align training with professional industry standards, preparing young Ivorians to contribute meaningfully to the country's socio-economic development.

He also highlighted that this donation supports the Ivorian government's vision of "Rethinking and Revaluing Technical Education, Vocational Training, and Apprenticeship to Boost Socio-Economic Development." The minister praised the excellent relations between Côte d'Ivoire and Turkey, noting that the gift is a testament to the strong partnership between the two countries.

Minister N'Guessan further mentioned that traditional sectors like jewelry, pottery, and others have existed for millennia in an artisanal and informal manner. With modernization, these sectors can attract more interest and offer new employment opportunities for the youth.

Turkey’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Burhanettin Duran, echoed the sentiments, emphasizing the importance of the school's role in professional training and expressing his pleasure at being part of the ceremony: "This donation is a symbol of Côte d'Ivoire's investment in its youth."

EIBMA, unique in the region, will host 45 students for the 2024-2025 academic year, positioning itself as a leader in vocational training in West Africa.
