Abidjan, October 13, 2024 - On Friday, October 11, 2024, in Conakry, two important agreements were signed by the Ivorian Minister of Digital Transition and Digitalization, Kalil Konaté, and his Guinean counterpart, Rose Pola Pricemou. One agreement focuses on the interconnection of fiber optic networks, while the other covers broader cooperation in the sectors of postal services, telecommunications, and the digital economy between the two countries.

The fiber optic network interconnection project is part of a strategic cooperation aimed at strengthening digital infrastructures between Côte d'Ivoire and Guinea. Kalil Konaté highlighted the importance of this project, emphasizing that it will serve as a robust communication link between the neighboring countries. "Our digital infrastructures will be interconnected in a way that enhances our resilience in the event of disasters," he said, expressing satisfaction. He also called for strengthening this partnership to ensure that "Ivorians and Guineans can benefit from continuous, high-quality digital services as part of the ongoing development of digital infrastructures."

For her part, Minister Rose Pola Pricemou praised this regional synergy, seeing the interconnection project as a means to "enrich our citizens with quality connectivity and create new employment opportunities."
