Fourth Abidjan Bridge: Prime Minister Announces Completion of First Phase

At the conclusion of a visit to the Fourth Abidjan Bridge on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé announced the completion of the first phase of the bridge's construction.

Costing approximately 154 billion CFA francs, the work included over 6 kilometers of roadways and bridges across the communes of Yopougon, Attécoubé, and Adjamé. "With the completion of these works, it now takes just 10 minutes to travel from Yopougon to Plateau, and less than 7 minutes from Yopougon to Adjamé. This contributes significantly to the comfort of the Ivorian population, reducing household expenses, and giving Abidjan a modern appearance," the Prime Minister said.

Robert Beugré Mambé also announced the upcoming commencement of the second phase of the project, which will include connecting the communes of Yopougon and Bingerville via the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system.

He expressed his gratitude to President Alassane Ouattara for the resources invested in the construction of high-quality road infrastructure and thanked the technical and financial partners for their confidence in Côte d'Ivoire.

The Prime Minister was accompanied by several government members, including the Minister of Equipment and Road Maintenance, Amédé Koffi Kouakou. The first phase of the Fourth Abidjan Bridge began on August 10, 2018.
