Annual Meeting of the AfDB: Ivorian Government Promises Perfect Organization for 2025 Edition

The Ivorian government has expressed its commitment to successfully organizing the 2025 edition of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Annual Meetings.

The announcement was made public by Philippe Lasmel, Director General of Development Coordination at the Ministry of Economy, Planning, and Development, during the closing of the 59th Annual Meeting on Friday, May 31, 2024, in Kenya.

"On Friday, May 31, 2024, Côte d'Ivoire was elected to host the 2025 Annual Meetings of the African Development Bank Group. As it has done before, Côte d'Ivoire will spare no effort, working in synergy with all stakeholders, to ensure the success of this upcoming event," he declared.

Philippe Lasmel indicated that President Alassane Ouattara and his government are honored and delighted to welcome all of Africa for the 2025 Annual Meetings of the Bank, while also expressing Côte d'Ivoire's gratitude to all the friendly and brotherly countries of Africa.

By designating Côte d'Ivoire as the host country for the next assemblies of the banking institution, the country takes the presidency of the Board of Governors. Thus, the Minister of Economy, Planning, and Development, the AfDB Governor for Côte d'Ivoire, will chair the Board of Governors until the next meetings.
