Millennium Challenge Account CI Supports Ministry of Women, Family, and Children in the Fight Against Gender-Based Violence

On Friday, May 24, 2024, in Abidjan, the Ministry of Women, Family, and Children (MFFE) received computer equipment valued at 42 million FCFA to bolster the efforts of platforms combatting gender-based violence (GBV). The equipment donation supports the National Program for the Fight Against Gender-Based Violence (PNLVBG) and was facilitated by the Millennium Challenge Account CI (MCA-CI) in partnership with the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC).

Seventeen platforms from the Abidjan district, Gbêkê region, and the city of San Pedro benefited from this generous contribution. This donation is part of a partnership established in July 2022 between the MFFE and MCA-CI under the Compact Program (Skills for Employability and Productivity Project), which aims to equip GBV platforms with essential resources.

Representing Minister Nassénéba Touré, Moussa Diarrassouba emphasized the critical importance of combating GBV. He expressed profound gratitude to MCA-CI and MCC for their substantial support in enhancing the operational capacity of GBV platforms.

Each GBV platform received a comprehensive equipment kit, including a laptop, a desktop computer, a multifunction photocopier, a mobile speaker, an internet box, a mobile phone, a roll-up banner, 55 brochures, and 80 flyers. This equipment is intended to strengthen their initiatives against GBV and support their ongoing activities.
