Iran: President Ebrahim Raisi Dies in Helicopter Crash

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has died in a helicopter crash that occurred on Sunday, May 19. The Iranian government confirmed his death on Monday, May 20, and assured that there would be no disruption in the administration of the country. First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber will serve as interim president until a quick presidential election can be held. Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei declared five days of national mourning.
