Job Overview
The U.S. Mission in Côte d’Ivoire is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Public Engagement Assistant – Education Outreach Coordinator within the Public Diplomacy Section.
The selected candidate will coordinate educational outreach activities aimed at students, educators, universities, and community leaders in Côte d’Ivoire. The role focuses on promoting U.S. higher education opportunities, American Studies, English-language programs, and partnerships between American and Ivorian institutions.

Main Responsibilities
1. Project Development & Implementation (60%)
The incumbent will:
- Build relationships with students, teachers, professors, and educational leaders;
- Promote study opportunities in the United States;
- Develop and manage educational outreach projects and activities;
- Support partnerships between American and Ivorian universities;
- Coordinate education fairs, workshops, seminars, and public events;
- Recruit institutions and influential voices to support outreach initiatives;
- Produce and distribute multimedia content related to educational programs;
- Maintain engagement with alumni of U.S. government programs;
- Monitor and evaluate project outcomes and performance indicators.
2. Strategic Planning & Evaluation (20%)
The position also involves:
- Designing education-focused public diplomacy initiatives;
- Identifying target audiences and communities;
- Contributing to the Public Diplomacy Implementation Plan (PDIP);
- Developing recruitment and marketing strategies;
- Reviewing grant proposals and partnership opportunities;
- Evaluating program effectiveness and impact.
3. Coordination & Partnerships (10%)
The employee will:
- Collaborate with Mission officers and partner institutions;
- Coordinate with communication and content teams;
- Promote awareness of higher education opportunities and U.S. programs.
4. Administrative Duties (10%)
Administrative responsibilities include:
- Managing project budgets;
- Maintaining databases and activity records;
- Drafting reports, correspondence, and proposals in English and French;
- Providing informal interpretation and translation when necessary.
Required Qualifications
Education
A university degree in one of the following fields is required:
- Education
- International Relations
- Communications
- Marketing
- American Studies
- Or a related field
Experience
Candidates must have:
- At least three years of progressively responsible professional experience
- Experience in:
- education outreach,
- Communication,
- Marketing,
- Public engagement,
- or cultural/educational programs in a multinational environment.
Languages
Fluency is required in:
- English (speaking, reading, writing)
- French (speaking, reading, writing)
Knowledge & Skills
Applicants should demonstrate:
- Strong understanding of the Ivorian education sector;
- Knowledge of universities, NGOs, and academic systems;
- Familiarity with digital tools, MOOCs, and online engagement platforms;
- Excellent public speaking and interpersonal communication skills;
- Ability to manage projects, budgets, workshops, and partnerships;
- Skills in social media, multimedia communication, and content creation;
- Strong reporting, analytical, and organizational abilities.
