Position Overview

As part of the 2026 World No Tobacco Day campaign, the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) Programme in Benin, in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Ministry of Health of Benin, is launching the digital campaign “Generation Without Tobacco.”

The initiative aims to:

  • Raise awareness among young people about the dangers of tobacco in all its forms (cigarettes, shisha, e-cigarettes, and other nicotine products);
  • Promote healthy behaviors;
  • Encourage strong civic engagement for a tobacco-free environment.

To ensure large-scale dissemination of awareness messages and create a national digital movement around the hashtag #229SansTabac, WHO is recruiting 200 Online Volunteers to serve as digital ambassadors for the campaign.

 

Main Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the campaign coordination team, Online Volunteers will:

  • Publish and share official campaign content on their social media platforms;
  • Interact with campaign posts through comments, shares, and reactions to increase visibility;
  • Encourage their networks to follow and support the campaign;
  • Participate in awareness webinars organized as part of the initiative.

 

Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Have active accounts on at least two social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.);
  • Be interested in public health, youth engagement, or community development;
  • Be available throughout the campaign period;
  • Demonstrate commitment, dynamism, and ethical behavior in online communications.

 

Language Requirement

  • French — Native or fluent level required.
