In just a few weeks, Côte d’Ivoire — a land known for hosting major sporting events — will once again take center stage as it hosts the 5th edition of the Africa Floorball Cup. On August 16 and 17, 2025, Abidjan will welcome the continent’s top teams to the Dome of the Palais des Sports in Treichville.
This highly anticipated edition promises to be both festive and competitive, with the host country aiming to leave a lasting impression, led by its official mascot “Ayoka”, a symbol of Ivorian hospitality.
Five nations will compete for the title, hoping to succeed defending champion Cameroon: Côte d’Ivoire (host), Burkina Faso, Benin, Morocco, and Cameroon.
This year’s tournament is expected to be intensely contested, continuing a rich legacy of past winners: Nigeria (2018), Kenya (2019), Burkina Faso (2023), and Cameroon (2024).
Marcel Wadja, President of the Ivorian Floorball Federation, and his team are fully committed to making this event a benchmark for African floorball.
"The Ivorian people are invited to give this sport their full attention. The Federation is in great need of financial support to ensure the success of this continental celebration," he stated.
The official mascot, “Ayoka” — which means “welcome” in the Bété language — will be the face of all communications for the tournament, embodying the warm and inclusive spirit of Côte d’Ivoire.
