2026 World Cup Qualifiers (Africa Zone): Wilfried Singo and Jean-Philippe Gbamin Withdraw Due to Injuries

The Ivorian Football Federation (FIF) announced on Sunday, October 5, 2025, that Wilfried Singo and Jean-Philippe Gbamin will miss the 9th and 10th matchdays of the 2026 World Cup African qualifiers due to injuries.

Both players, initially called up by national coach Emerse Faé, were injured during their respective club matches on Saturday, October 4, making them unavailable for this crucial qualification window.

To cover for their absence, FIF has called up Armel Zohouri (FC Iberia) and Junior Diaz (Stade Brestois) to join the national team during the October 2025 international break.
