The Ivorian Football Federation (FIF) officialized, this Friday, July 31, 2026, the end of its collaboration with the head coach of the senior national team, Emerse Faé. Expiring today, his contract will not be renewed, according to an official statement signed by FIF President Yacine Idriss Diallo.

In its press release, the Federation indicates that "the contract of Mr. Emerse Faé, Head Coach of the Senior National Team of Côte d'Ivoire, came to an end on July 31, 2026, and will not be subject to renewal."

The Executive Committee of the FIF praised the work accomplished by the Ivorian manager during his tenure, expressing its "deep gratitude" for "his commitment, professionalism, and services rendered at the head of the Senior National Team."

The governing body of Ivorian football also paid tribute to his contribution to the development of the Elephants, considering that "the results achieved under his leadership will remain an important part of the recent history of Ivorian football."

Furthermore, the Federation extended to Emerse Faé "its most sincere wishes for success in the continuation of his professional career."

Finally, the FIF specified that it will communicate "in due course" the decisions regarding the appointment of the new senior national team head coach as well as the composition of his technical staff.

Emerse Faé was appointed interim head coach in January 2024 following the dismissal of Jean-Louis Gasset, after the heavy defeat against Equatorial Guinea (4-0) during AFCON 2023. He then led the Elephants to a historic victory at home by winning the tournament, before being confirmed in his position in February of the same year. At the head of the national team, he leaves notably a continental title, a qualification and participation in AFCON 2025 and the 2026 World Cup.
