Faced with Nigeria in the final of the 3rd edition of the UFOA-B Cup, the Young Elephants snatched a 1-0 victory at the last moment on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at the University of Accra Stadium in Ghana.
The only goal of the match was scored by Zakaria Tindano in the 90+3rd minute, in a game where the Ivorian side showed clinical finishing against a dominant but wasteful Nigerian team. A true "hold-up" by the young Ivorians, who demonstrated patience, defensive solidarity, and composure in the dying moments.
Already crowned champions in 2023 in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire has now achieved a historic double by winning a second consecutive title in this regional competition. This performance confirms the growing strength of Ivorian youth football, carried by a promising new generation.
In addition to the team trophy, the Young Elephants claimed the major individual awards of this 2025 edition. Tape Yaya Kader, the midfield playmaker and standout performer, was named Best Player of the Tournament. Yoro Zigui Christian, outstanding throughout the competition, won the Best Goalkeeper award. And the hero of the final, Zakaria Tindano, finished as the tournament’s top scorer, earning the Golden Boot.
